Worldwide ‘Thriller’ dance to happen in Kelowna on Saturday

Halloween is fast approaching, and what better way to get into the spooky spirit than participating in the world’s biggest Thriller dance.

Thrill the World 2022 happens at the same time across the world with dances happening in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Switzerland, Taiwan and right here in Canada.

Kelowna has been lucky enough to see the annual event for the past seven years, with Studio9 hosting the public dance down in Stuart Park.

For the first time in two years, the event will be open for everyone to join in on the fun as eased restrictions should make for the biggest dance yet.

The rhythmic ghouls in Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video stood the test of time as the iconic moves are still performed 37 years later to the classic tune.

The event is free, but people are encouraged to bring an item for the food bank or make a donation at the registration table.

Put on your best zombie, register at 2:45 pm on Saturday down in Stuart Park and the dance starts at exactly 3:00 pm to match others around the world.

Those looking to join in on the Halloween-themed flash mob can learn the moves here, or just follow along to the beat.
