West Kelowna residents inspired a self-guided “Twinkle Tour” this 12 months

As you already know, this year is different from any other.

However, people are still trying hard to have a somewhat normal Christmas season, which often includes an event like a Christmas light.

The city of West Kelowna usually hosts one every December, but this year residents are encouraged to take their own self-guided “twinkle tour” of the city.

Bouville’s Who’s Who are preparing their glow glasses and preparing their joy-joydlers and cheer-choolders for the 2020 Twinkle Tour, which kicks off this Friday, December 4th.

“West Kelowna’s Light Up is going to look different this holiday season,” said Kevin Bourchier, recreation manager.

“Although the annual event on Brown Road is not possible due to provincial health orders, residents can enjoy the festive experience through a self-guided Twinkle Tour of City Properties.”

An interactive map is available on the city’s website that identifies a number of places to see great light displays in West Kelowna.

These locations include:

  • Brown Road
  • Gellatly Waterfront including CNR Wharf and Powers Creek Bridge
  • Mt Boucherie Community Center
  • Boucherie Road Wine Trail and Westlake roundabouts
  • Park Department Office on Elliott Road
  • Fire Station 31 on the Old Okanagan Highway

<p dir=The city-wide Twinkle Tour includes a competition where a jury will select a winner in each of the following categories on December 20th:

  • Most festive house
  • Most festive business
  • Most festive balcony
  • Most festive miscellaneous
