West Kelowna, Kelowna, BC West Kelowna – A man and woman face numerous charges after the West Kelowna RCMP Community Safety Unit recovered over $ 30,000 in allegedly stolen goods.

Between October 17 and 18, 2021, the West Kelowna RCMP Community Safety Unit (CSU) was made aware by local asset protection workers that a man and woman associated with a Ford van allegedly purchased high quality goods from local Companies stole. The investigators worked with the loss prevention officers to learn more details about the description of the suspects.

On October 19, 2021, the West Kelowna RCMP Community Safety Unit located the Ford van with two occupants in the parking lot of a Kelowna store. A man and a woman were arrested and taken into custody without incident. After her arrest, the van was confiscated and a search revealed more than $ 30,000 in high-value goods believed to have been stolen from local businesses.

“The goods seized included home improvement supplies, kitchen appliances, and various tools and machines of great value,” says Cp. Bryan Mulrooney of the RCMP Community Safety Unit in West Kelowna. “Many thieves and shoplifters cost companies thousands of dollars in lost revenue every month. Our collaborative approach and relationship with our local asset protection staff is an invaluable tool in helping us fight productive retail thieves. “

A 42-year-old man from Langley and a 46-year-old woman from White Rock were conditionally released to appear in court at a later date. The investigation is ongoing and the matter is being brought to the BC prosecutor for investigation.
