James Wood was last seen walking out of his apartment on the 2000 block of Peters Road in West Kelowna at 1:45 p.m. on November 8, 2021.
“The day James went missing, he was not dressed appropriately for the elements and the weather turned colder,” said Cpl. Tammy lobb. “We ask residents of the 2000 block of Peters Road to check their properties, sheds and outbuildings in case James finds shelter.”
An extensive search has been conducted by Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) and the West Kelowna RCMP since James went missing. A soil search around James’ residence was completed and teams of dogs helped locate the parks and wilderness areas James is known for. A helicopter from RCMP Air Services and COSAR air forces also supported the search from the air. For the time being, COSAR has stopped the active search until further information is available on how to continue the search.
It has now been a few days since James was reported missing. James has medical needs and needs medication. “James family, search and rescue and the RCMP are concerned for his health and wellbeing, and we ask the public to be vigilant in the search for James,” said S / Sgt. Duncan Dixon from RCMP West Kelowna.

The West Kelowna RCMP is soliciting public assistance in their search for a missing West Kelowna resident.
Officials warn the public that Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) will be going door-to-door in the Peters Road area of West Kelowna to look for James Wood.
Wood was last seen walking out of his residence on November 8, 2021 at 1:45 p.m. on the 2000 block of Peters Road in West Kelowna. Police believe he is in the West Kelowna or Kelowna area.

- Caucasian man
- 27 years old
- 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm)
- 126 lbs (57 kg)
- Brown hair
- Green eyes
- Last seen in pajama bottoms and a buttoned t-shirt
James may appear disoriented and may need medical attention.
