West Kelowna RCMP has closed a suspected high-quality theft ring.

Police arrested two people from the Lower Mainland and confiscated more than $ 30,000 in allegedly stolen goods.

RCMP says they received a lead from store security regarding the alleged shoplifting of “high quality goods” from local stores earlier this week by a man and woman associated with a Ford truck.

On Tuesday, police said they found the van and the two occupants in the parking lot of a store in Kelowna.

The couple were taken into custody without incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle found the alleged goods, which were believed to have been stolen from local shops.

A 42-year-old man from Langley and a 46-year-old woman from White Rock were conditionally released to appear in court at a later date.

“The reclaimed goods included home improvement, kitchen appliances, and various tools and machines of great value,” says Cpl. Bryan Mulrooney of the RCMP Community Security Unit West Kelowna.

“Many thieves and shoplifters cost companies thousands of dollars in lost revenue every month. Our collaborative approach and relationship with our local asset protection staff is an invaluable tool in helping us fight productive retail thieves. “

The investigation continues.
