It’s almost done.
After a year of on-and-off road work, crews are getting ready to put the finishing touches on Bartley Road in West Kelowna.
Monday through Friday, Bartley Road from the new roundabout to Highway 97 will be closed to from 7 am to 6 pm while crews complete the final phase of road and paving work. To accommodate commuter traffic on Monday, the temporary closure will begin at 9 am
“For the safety of crews working on site, a road closure is required, however, Bartley Road will re-open to vehicle traffic outside of construction hours. The construction schedule may be affected by weather and paving crew availability,” the city said in a statement.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
The work is the final phase of a $6.15 million project that included a new roundabout at the Shannon Lake-Bartley-Stevens Roads. Bike lane and sidewalk improvements in the area are also included.
Work on the project started back in September 2021 and has included numerous temporary closures over the past year.
