West Kelowna City Council approves building permits for 169 units

The new development is planned for a large lot on Gettatly Road South.

New homes could be coming to West Kelowna.

West Kelowna City Council approved building permit for a 169-unit unit on Tuesday afternoon. The complexes would be divided into 60 residential units and 109 townhouse units.

The development has yet to get planning permission, but the large area on Gellatly Road would include a rooftop terrace, pedestrian walkways through the apartment buildings, a children’s play area, indoor spaces and a pickle ball court.

The development plans were viewed as an appropriate use of space and do not affect zoning restrictions in the city. Therefore, construction will start as soon as the developers have received the building permit.
