A Kelowna company picks up the pieces after watches worth over $ 3,000 are taken out of business.
Sun City Liquidations and Auctions employees on Enterprise Way came to work Tuesday morning (December 8th) to find that their front door was broken and jewelry was taken.
Employee Brooke Warren was the first to spot the mess when she opened the store on Tuesday morning.
She described a suspicious person who came into the store the day before (December 7th) and asked to look at the clocks. She thinks they could be responsible.
“I came this morning and the window was completely broken and I immediately thought, look at the clocks. I moved aside and that was the only thing they decided to do. “
Only one of the dozen of clocks was left behind. Empty watch boxes were strewn across the countertop. Owner Luanne Markland believes it must have happened early in the morning.

She said the search for her missing product was on.
“I’ll go to the pawn shops and see what was pledged,” said the owner.
Markland was speechless. She said it was never nice to be stolen, but especially not so close to the holidays. The company is a retirement plan for Markland and co-owner Allan Tew.
“We’re just trying to make a living, that’s all we’re trying … This is our retirement, minus $ 3,500,” she said.
That being said, she is counting her blessings. The inside of the store was only slightly damaged, which in their opinion could have been a lot worse.
“It is what it is, it’s just another boot in the ribs from this year.”
Marland stated that a hammer was found in the store to be used to break the door. She said RCMP took it to check for prints.
Kelowna RCMP has confirmed that they are investigating the matter.
“Employees… came to work and found the store’s front door broken and numerous items stolen from the inside. Kelowna RCMP was in attendance and grabbed a hammer from the scene.
“This matter is being investigated. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Kelowna RCMP or CrimeStoppers, ”said RCMP Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy.
