Vaccine Eligibility for Sizzling Spot Clinics in Rutland, Summerland Now 18+ – Kelowna Information

All adults over the age of 18 in both Summerland and the Kelowna neighborhood of Rutland are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

The eligibility for people aged 30 and over was announced on Friday for the municipalities, both of which were classified as “high-transmission”.

On Monday, the provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry that the age range for her clinics that target high-transmittance communities has now been changed to 18+.

Interior Health operates a vaccination clinic in the Summerland curling club. A specific clinic in Rutland is listed on the IH website as “TBD”.

The program is run on the basis of zip codes which are checked when people take their pictures.

IH said Friday that Rutland has one of the lowest vaccination rates and highest transmission rates in the region. They couldn’t explain the high transmission rates in Summerland.

Eligible residents can register for their vaccine online or call 1-833-838-2323 between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. PDT seven days a week.
