Police spent several days in a house on Gerstmar Road as part of an investigation into a home invasion on Webster Road on Saturday night.

Nearly a week after an alleged home invasion in Rutland with neighbors asking questions, police released some information about the incident.

On Saturday night, police were called on a report of a home invasion on the 600 block off Webster Road.

As a result of the RCMP investigation, 50-year-old Clayton Zeleniski and a 42-year-old man whom police did not identify were arrested.

“We do not believe this incident poses any risk to the public,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy from the Kelowna RCMP. “Due to the nature of this matter, we will not release any further information at this time.”

As part of the police investigation into the Webster Road home invasion, RCMP officers were located at 605 Gerstmar Road on Sunday and Monday. Zeleniski is believed to have lived at the Gerstmar Road home in the past, but it is unclear whether he was currently lived there.

Zeleniski is now accused of breaking and kicking, attacking with a weapon and breaking a clearance order. He was on bail at the time of the alleged home invasion after being charged with a number of gun crimes following an RCMP search of the Gerstmar Road home earlier this year.

He remains in custody with a trial date for next Monday.

It is unclear whether charges have been brought against the 42-year-old man, who was released under severe conditions. Police say the full investigation will be forwarded to the Crown.
