Kelowna Toyota’s parts and service division has been closed by Interior Health due to COVID-19 transmissions.

It is one of five companies in the Interior Health region that closed due to new health regulations dated April 12th.

The Toyota dealer’s parts and service department was closed on May 8th and will last until May 19th.

OK Tire on Dilworth Drive, also in Kelowna, was ordered closed on May 7th, but is scheduled to reopen tomorrow, May 11th. This is evident from the Interior Health Workplace Closures website.

Such closures will be ordered when “public health investigations determine transmission of COVID-19,” Interior Health stated. Closures may be required for 10 days or more, but on larger construction sites closings may be restricted to specific areas.

Two Summerland stores were also closed, both on May 5th.

ArtVine Creative Spaces will be closed until tomorrow, while Tones Hair Design will be closed until May 13th.

The only other company in the Interior Health area to close under the new regulations is the Cariboo Friendship Center in Williams Lake. This closure was ordered on April 28th and will run until May 12th.

During the closings, WorkSafeBC is working with companies to review and improve security plans, Interior Health said.
