Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.
Approximately 20-25 cm of snow is expected by Tuesday morning as a front system moves over the south coast through the interior of BC.
Travelers are encouraged to remain vigilant and adapt their driving to the road conditions. In heavy snowfall, visibility can sometimes be suddenly restricted.
Drive BC reports that road conditions east of Rogers Pass between Revelstoke and Golden are muddy and slippery.
Drive BC also reports compact snow and limited visibility in the Revelstoke area.
Environment Canada is a reminder to drivers that mountain weather can change suddenly, creating dangerous driving conditions.
Alerts can be monitored on Environment Canada’s website. Severe weather can be reported by emailing BCstorm@canada.ca or tweeting reports with #BCStorm.
