Three Kelowna companies have secured a total of six nominations for the 2022 Georgie Awards.

The awards, which are in their 30th year, celebrate excellence in home building and renovation in BC’s residential construction industry. The Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC hands out the honors each year.

Bercum Builders has the best chance of winning a Georgie, as it is up for three awards thanks to its project, Cypress Hill Estate. The home is up for Best Residential Renovation ($1 million and over), Best Kitchen Renovation (over $150,000) and Best Landscape.

Kelbrook Construction Corporation is a finalist in two categories: Excellence in Custom Home ($1,500,000 to $2,000,000) and Best Outdoor Living Space (New or Renovation). The company was nominated for its project called State of Mind.

Finally, 3rd Generation Homes is also in the running for the Excellence in Custom Home ($1,500,000 to $2,000,000) award thanks to its Harvard Road project.

“There has never been a better time to take a moment to celebrate this incredible, resilient industry,” Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC CEO Neil Moody said in a press release. “Despite a year rife with wildfires, floods, devastation and a worldwide pandemic, our home building and renovation members continued to work hard, keep people employed and build homes—all while raising the bar on innovation, quality and design excellence.”

The awards gala will be held on June 4 at Vancouver’s Hyatt Regency.
