A Kelowna company involved in the cannabis industry has made another remarkable achievement.

The Valens Company, which provides proprietary cannabis processing services, product development, manufacturing and commercialization of consumer cannabis products, began trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market last week.

“Our listing on Nasdaq represents another important milestone that reflects our commitment to all of our shareholders as we continue to advance our global growth initiatives by capitalizing on the legalization of cannabis around the world and strengthening our corporate governance,” said Tyler Robson, CEO and chairman of Valens, said in a press release. “I am extremely proud of our team and the platform we have built here in Canada. We will continue to build a company focused on product innovation and advancing our intellectual property to create products that consumers love.

“The listing on the Nasdaq is the next step in our capital market strategy. We believe this listing will provide Valens and its shareholders with greater access to liquidity, increased company visibility and a broader shareholder base to create long-term shareholder value.”

The Nasdaq listing follows the purchase of American CBD company Green Roads and its foray into the medical cannabis distribution business in Australia.
