According to Kelowna’s Active Living Director, the opening of sports and recreational facilities will be complex and gradual.
“It’s important to note that the facilities will continue to be adapted to provincial guidelines, implemented on different schedules and within a facility. An example of this could be Mission Recreation Park, where we have six ball diamonds. Perhaps only four will come out of the gate and as the sport grows, the facilities will grow with it. “
Jim Gabriel added that activities and programs that can be conducted outdoors will take place and the focus will initially be on outdoor facilities.
He said the reopening approach will be thoughtful, measured, and progressive.
