The Kelowna retailer decides to not carry costs after the stolen Mona Lisa portray is discovered

A stolen painting of great sentimental value is back in the hands of its owner.

On November 20, a company in downtown Kelowna reported that the replica of the Mona Lisa painting had been picked up, greatly angered the company’s owners and employees.

The RCMP was able to review security footage of the theft and the suspect, which was relayed to all front-line officers patrolling downtown.

On November 25, two officers were on foot patrolling the area when they found a man who matched the suspect’s description.

<p dir=They approached him and inquired about the painting the man had stolen and currently had in his possession.

The painting was confiscated and returned to its rightful owners, who decided not to bring charges against the man who stole it.

“In this particular case, the return of the painting was more valuable to the owner than the prosecution,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

Noseworthy commended the officers for working at their own discretion towards the best ultimate goal for the victim. The painting is now back where it belongs and the owners are happy.
