A Kelowna costume designer is helping entire families get into the Halloween spirit this year.

“Lots of unbelievable people. Many families want to do something together, ”said Kerri Brandel of Calowna Costumes. “The Incredibles were great for that. We sold out incredibleibles. ”

Calowna Costumes has around 5,000 costumes collected over its 35 years in the business.

According to Brandel, she keeps the large selection in the shop all year round for all kinds of occasions. Halloween and Christmas are their main business hours.

“My grandma had a thrift store,” said Brandel. “She started sewing clown costumes. She is an amazing sewer. From then on it started to develop. “

When customers return their costumes, they can tell stories about “what they made and how much fun it was. We love this. It’s probably one of our favorite pieces, ”she said.

“We got everything from Elvira we had a lot this year, more from Dracula, an old school haunted house,” Brandel said. “We have our famous Jack Sparrow costume. We do Mad Hatter, Alice in Wonderland, Flappers, Gangsters, Sailors, we even have Captain Obvious. Which is not so obvious. “
