The Kelowna RCMP had to attend a Kelowna church over the weekend.
Officers were informed of a face-to-face meeting at a church on the 1600 block on Harvey Avenue at around 11 a.m. Sunday.
According to an RCMP statement, the service violated the provincial Public Health Commissioner’s recent order on gatherings and events.
“When the officers arrived, they observed several people present who were not wearing masks or social distancing,” said the RCMP statement.
The officers spoke extensively with a Church leader to make sure the updated regulations were clearly understood and did not impose any fines.
The Kelowna RCMP is now working with Interior Health to determine if further action is needed.
