Update at 2 p.m.:
The police remain on site, but the officers appear to be reopening the area.
The winners remain closed at this time. The company is aware of the incident and commends Kelowna RCMP for its speed of action.
This is an active criminal investigation.
Update at 1 p.m .:
Kelowna RCMP has been informed of a possible threat and can be seen at Orchard Park Plaza.
Corporal Jocelyn Noseworthy said, “We are currently under an active criminal investigation, so we are asking people to stay out of the area until we are done with the investigation and leave.”
Noseworthy says they were informed of the potential threat around 11:30 a.m.
Lee Valley, Winners and adjacent stores are currently closed.
