Just in time for the summer, some entrepreneurs from Okanagan have launched a new form of party truck.

Scott Adams and Quentin Thiesen are ready to bring the bar to your small gathering of 50 people or less this summer with ‘Tap Truck Okanagan’, a mobile bar with bespoke taps serving local beers, wines, champagnes, prosecco, coffee , Tea and more.

The two only started operations two weeks ago and serve the entire Okanagan.

“We just got the truck when the COVID-19 restrictions began,” says Adams. “We’re now taking bookings for weddings, parties, backyard events, and corporate events, whatever we can fit in.”

With the restored Chevy panel van from 1957 with built-in barrel system, Adams and Thiesen can serve up to six different draft beers, ciders, barrel wines and cocktails.

“Our goal is to promote the products made in the Okanagan, including local wineries, breweries and distilleries,” says Adams.

The company originated in San Diego and is now represented in 25 cities across the US under the Tap Truck USA brand.

Adams says he and Thiesen are the first operators in Canada.

“They built and restored the truck and we bought it from them,” he explains.

The shop is available throughout the Okanagan. Adams says they have had requests for weddings up to Hope for next year and have spent the past few weeks visiting vineyards, wineries, and distilleries in Okanagan to introduce themselves.

“We haven’t met all of them yet, but we’re working our way down the valley,” says Adams. “We’re taking bookings for the next year, which is a good sign. Everyone who has inquired so far limits their event to 50 people. “

Those interested can contact Adams at 250-864-6523 or through the Tap Truck website.

Adams says customers need a special event license.

“In fact, the customer hires bartenders for an event where we provide the truck. The customer can choose any drink they like and we go from there, ”says Adams.
