A major blackout on Saturday morning affects hundreds of properties south of Harvey Avenue in Kelowna.

The power went out to 2,767 households east of Pandosy Street and through the Guisachan area south of KLO Road around 7 a.m. on Saturday, and it remains off.

It is not clear what caused the failure, but FortisBC lists the type of failure as “Repair” on their website. Some affected local residents say the power went out on Friday morning at a similar time.

“It’s unfortunate that we haven’t received a notification if they are planning upgrades as I just bought groceries on Thursday and had to figure out how to get my car out of the garage yesterday morning,” a Castanet resident told.
