A 21-year-old was arrested after an alleged attempt to rob a store in Kelowna Wednesday morning.

Just before 8:20 a.m., the Kelowna RCMP received a report that a woman had entered a store on the 1900 block of Pandosy Street.

She allegedly pulled a knife and threatened employees, demanded money, before taking goods and escaping the area on foot.

The frontline officers soon found the suspect and she remains in custody.

“Our frontline officers arrested the suspect without incident,” says RCMP Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy: “Fortunately, nobody was injured in this robbery.”

The matter has been referred to the BC prosecutor for review.
