Staples Canada has announced its three corporate winners in the This Is How I Grow My Business competition, including Kelowna-based Happipad Technologies Inc.
The local company will receive $ 20,000 from Staples Canada in SolutionShop services and new technology, as well as a mentoring opportunity with Canadian fashion designer and master entrepreneur Joe Mimran.
Happipad offers a service that matches hosts with vacant rooms for guests looking for temporary, affordable rental accommodation. Your main goal is to provide a beneficial experience for both parties involved; Hosts have the opportunity to earn additional income while guests, usually students, save on rent.

To celebrate entrepreneurs, Staples spends Small Business Month celebrating Canada’s three preeminent small businesses; SenseTech solutions, Animora and Happipad. They also offer new products, programs, and services designed to help small and medium-sized businesses in communities across the country work smarter, learn more, and grow every day.
“Entrepreneurs and small businesses help empower our communities, and we are committed to supporting their ever-evolving needs,” said David Boone, Staples Canada’s chief executive officer.
“About 95,000 small and medium-sized businesses are created across the country every year, although 85,000 businesses disappear within the same year. We want to help Canadian companies thrive in every location with the right tools, inspiring products and services, and knowledgeable people. “

All 305 Staples stores across Canada will end the month with a Small Business Showcase on October 30th, 11 am-3pm, inviting startups and entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses and share them with the local community.
“Giving entrepreneurs a platform to share their business with others is one of the ways we build a community in our stores to be more than just a product that we offer,” said Boone.
