Revelstoke hosts the Canadian Amateur Motocross Championships

Canadian Motorsport Racing is hosting Grand National Amateur Championships in Revelstoke August 17-20

Revelstoke will host the National Amateur Motocross Championships this summer, an event expected to bring hundreds of dirt bikers to town.

Canadian Motorsport Racing Corp. hosts its Grand National Amateur Championships in Revelstoke from August 17th to 20th.

The four-day event features races in a variety of classes, from teenagers on 50cc machines to elite amateurs from around the country.

The race is hosted by MCQMX, who hosted the Revelstoke snow bike races this winter.

The event may have been spurred on by a $ 70,000 makeover to the Revy Riders dirt bike track last year, adding 30 seconds to the lap time and widening the track.

According to the press release, this is the first time in 25 years that the championships have been held in western Canada. It is also the first ever motocross race on the new Revy Riders track.

The event begins with training and qualification on August 17th, followed by three days of racing from August 18th to 20th.
