Fresh Kelowna business stands out from the crowd

Local entrepreneurs leave traditional business fronts in the rearview mirror

A Kelowna entrepreneur has the “pink touch” that puts her flower shop on wheels.

Diane Herron moved five boxes from Saskatoon to Kelowna and dreamed of getting her flower cart in full bloom. She repaired and retrofitted a Japanese microcar and finished it off with a touch of pink.

Sweet Dee’s Flowers offers pre-arranged bouquets, as well as loose flowers and lots of greenery for customers to create their own. The light pink truck drives around Kelowna all week and parks in the Kelowna Easter market on Sundays.

“I’m looking forward to being able to park the truck in different parts of the city and becoming part of these communities. I can bring fresh flowers to areas that may not have easy access to an affordable, fun option, ”Herron said in a press release.

Herron also offers a subscription service. Every two weeks customers get fresh flowers for $ 250 for a three month subscription. The entrepreneur hopes Kelowna residents will see fresh flowers as an everyday luxury.

“It’s a purchase that increases your enjoyment of a room. Flowers are a way to celebrate your home, ”Herron said in a press release.
