Kelowna police are looking for a hit with an 11-year-old boy in Glenmore for a BMW SUV.

RCMP says the boy was riding a scooter with two other children when the gray BMW SUV didn’t stop at a red light and collided with him.

After being hit by the vehicle at the intersection of Glenmore Road and Kane Road, the boy went on with minor injuries and told his parents what happened, according to an RCMP news release. The scooter was slightly damaged.

The incident was reported to the Kelowna RCMP shortly after 2:45 p.m. on April 13, but not by the driver, police said. The driver did not stay at the scene and did not report the incident.

Witnesses described the driver as a Caucasian man between 16 and 20 years old with dark brown or black hair. The passenger had either blonde or light brown hair.

Anyone with information about the incident can call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or www.crimestoppers.net.
