Kelowna RCMP responded quickly yesterday to de-escalate a rapidly evolving situation at a local company.
Yesterday, January 14, just before 2 p.m., police were called to a store on the 1500 block of Banks Road in Kelowna, according to an RCMP media release, after an emotionally disturbed man reportedly caused a disturbance and threatened to harm himself . RCMP does not identify the company.
The police reacted quickly and sought support from the rescue services and the fire department.
The officers arrested a 27-year-old man who was in a mental crisis.
The man was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
RCMP said there were no injuries in the incident and that no further information will be available at this point.
