The Kelowna RCMP is seeking assistance from the public as an investigation into a shooting in a gym parking lot continues earlier this week.

According to the RCMP, officials plan to speak to eyewitnesses, drivers with dash camera footage and residents of the Glenmore area with video surveillance footage related to the brazen daytime footage on Monday afternoon, March 29th.

At around 12:35 p.m., a man was shot dead in the parking lot of the Global Fitness and Racquet Center on Harvey Avenue. He was being treated in the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A man seen fleeing the scene was not identified but was driving a silver four-door limousine north on Burtch Road.

At around 12:55 p.m., a witness reported that a gray four-door Chevrolet Malibu was abandoned and burned on the shoulder of Longhill Road in the Glenmore area, which investigators believe may be linked to the incident, RCMP said.

“Kelowna RCMP is seeking public support for information related to the shooting or the suspicious vehicle in order to advance the ongoing investigation,” says Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy of the Kelowna RCMP in a news release.

“In particular, we would like to speak to everyone who has been to these areas, including the North Glenmore area on March 29th between 12:35 pm and 1:00 pm.”

If you can provide assistance, contact the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit at 250-762-3300.
