Mounties in Kelowna are still searching for a suspect after a 14-year-old boy was hit by a car while riding his skateboard around town.

The reported hit-and-run occurred on April 11 in the 800 block on Thompson Road.

It was around 10 p.m. when the boy was hit, police said.

He was riding north on a skateboard when he was hit by a dark Ford sedan on its way south.

The boy said the vehicle did not stop but a local resident heard what happened and provided help.

An ambulance took the boy to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the sedan could have “front damage” following the incident.
