Kelowna’s Glenmore neighborhood shows its support for a shop that was destroyed with racist graffiti last weekend.
Kelowna RCMP is investigating after Bon Ga’s Korean kitchen was devastated with racist images and words early in the morning on Saturday, October 30th.
Mayor Colin Basran condemned the racist act yesterday in a media release.

“On behalf of the entire community, I express our dismay at this disgusting display of ignorance,” Basran said. “However, this heinous act gives us an opportunity to stand together and show that a small-minded person with a container of spray paint does not represent our community.”
Glenmore-based Danielle Kozek is organizing a gift basket for the company.
“I thought it would be a good opportunity for the neighborhood to come together and show that there is no place for racism in our community,” she said.
So far there has been a lot of support for the basket as other companies contributed their services and families and neighbors donated gift cards and cards with friendly messages.
The basket will be handed over to the owners on Saturday, but Kozek has not yet had any contact with them.
She said anyone who wants to contribute to the basket can call her at 250-870-0698 or send her a message here on Facebook.
