Husky station wants a restaurant

The Husky gas station on the corner of Cook Road and Gordon Drive in Kelowna has major renovation plans.

Fox Architecture has submitted a building permit application to the City of Kelowna proposing a major redevelopment of the site that includes the addition of a second floor. A restaurant with 40 seats is to be built on the ground floor and a specialist office in the second. A residential unit is also planned for the west side of the building.

The petrol pumps currently on site would remain, the convenience store would be downsized and the washing facility on the west side of the store would be removed.

“This proposal combines the needs of a commercial expressway gas station with the walk-in neighborhood uses of a formal restaurant and then turns into residential use with a view of the adjacent housing,” says the application letter originally written in October 2018.
