Premier outraged by racist protesters in Kelowna | information

A video showing the blatant racism of a protester against a security guard outside a vaccination clinic in Kelowna has been widely condemned – including by the Prime Minister.

The video, first published this week by InfoNews, shows vocal anti-masker and anti-Vaxxer Bruce Orydzuk teasing a guard wearing a turban.

“Go back to your country,” says Orydzuk. “You’re gross. Go back to India. We don’t want you here.”

He repeats over and over again: “You are not a Canadian. You are not a Canadian. You are not Canadian. “

The security guard remains composed and firm as he holds his position trying to keep the protesters away from the church where people are receiving their COVID-19 vaccine.

Orydzuk holds a sign that reads: “You are taking part in a medical experiment with unexplained consequences, do you have a declaration of consent to the injury and death rates?”

BC Prime Minister John Horgan shared his outrage on Twitter.

“That is hideous, racist behavior. If you treat people like that, you are the problem, ”Horgan wrote. “Racism is a scourge and we must stand against it together to build a better province.”

Kelowna Coun. Mohini Singh shared the video on Facebook and called the incident “awful awful awful”.

“That’s not what Kelowna stands for or will accept,” she said.

Kelowna RCMP says they are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.

A separate video Orydzuk shared on his own social media shows footage of an anti-mask rally in the city center; It is recorded that belligerent protesters were asked to move away from a shop in downtown Kelowna so their customers could go in and out.

“Be nice, please, we are in Canada,” says Orydzuk to the shopkeeper. “The vaccination obviously took your manners away too.”
