The Penticton swimmer wins major awards and joins the Olympic dream
Justin Fotherby, a KISU club member, has just won the prestigious Victor Davis Award
Justin Fotherby of the KISU Swim Club is one to watch as he recently received his second National Swim Canada Award. Fotherby is one of six swimmers from across Canada to be recognized for the Victor Davis Award 2020-2021.
Fotherby, a 12th grade student at Penticton High School, will also get closer to that Olympic dream by participating in the upcoming Olympic Swimming Trials taking place May 24-28 in Toronto.
The Victor Davis Memorial Fund was established to commemorate Victor and his contribution to competitive swimming in Canada. The award helps young Canadian swimmers continue their education, training and pursuit of excellence at an international competitive level.
“I’m both proud and honored,” said Justin. “The tremendous contribution Victor Davis has made to competitive swimming in Canada and around the world is inspiring.”
He was also awarded the Dr. Jeno Tihanyi Award from Swim Canada and the Canadian / Pacific Sport Institute (Okanagan) – Sport Hero Award presented.
