Bryan Lamb, the man accused of indiscriminately assaulting two boys, ages four and ten, in a Kaleden Park, was released on bail in the Penticton Supreme Court on Wednesday, February 10.
The Penticton repeat offender, who is currently facing five criminal cases, all linked to violent crimes, will be released from prison on Friday.
In September 2020, a judge from Lamb Provincial Court refused bail despite his oral objection to the court. He took the rare step, through his lawyer, of seeking a judicial release from the Supreme Court.
Lamb was released on bail from Justice Weatherill yesterday.
According to the British Columbia Prosecutor’s Office, the Criminal Code provides for a warrant to be reviewed in certain circumstances.
In this case, the review was carried out under Section 525 of the Criminal Code, which requires a review of an arrest warrant after 90 days. Conditions for his release will be available once Lamb signs his release papers, the Penticton court register said.
Today was the first day in Lamb’s trial that he is accused of assaulting a police officer and causing a disturbance on August 23, 2020, two days before he is accused of assaulting the two boys.
Lamb was released on bail shortly after his arrest in Kaleden Park but was sent back to prison. He was accused of breaking into a house in Kaleden on September 15, 2020. This case will be brought to trial in Penticton on March 29th.
He will be tried on March 31 for being attacked with a gun in an incident that occurred in Penticton on August 18, 2020, seven days before the alleged attack on the Kaleden boys. In this case, Lamb is accused of breaking into a shop in the Skaha area and striking someone with a bat.
He also has a trial scheduled for April 19 for under $ 5,000 theft in Keremeos, which will be held on June 26, 2020.
According to the court register, Lamm has been in the criminal system since 2003.
