Another daycare center in Kelowna was closed due to COVID-19.

Beyond Learning on Ethel Street announced yesterday that a child at the center had tested positive for the virus.

Facility Director Tenecia Richards said the news was “a little troubling and worrying” but tried to reassure parents that it would be kept up to date.

“At this point, we have received no further instruction on what to do or what families to isolate other than to provide Interior Health with the contact tracing information requested,” she said.

“Once they have checked the contact tracing list, they will contact the affected families directly and advise you and us of the next steps.”

She added, “This is why we decided to close abruptly until we have more information so as not to divulge anything further.”

More information is expected today, Richards said.

Last week, the Building Blocks Educare daycare center closed its Gordon campus due to a COVID-19 case.
