For the third time in a little over a week, a member of the Kelowna Secondary School community tested positive for COVID-19.

School District 23 released a statement Tuesday night confirming the case, but did not provide any information about whether it was a student, faculty member, or any other person.

The Interior Health website lists exposure dates from October 28-30.

It appears that this latest exposure was unrelated to the previously announced late October cases, which had exposure dates between October 19 and 21.

“They are self-isolating at home with the assistance of local health teams,” the statement said.

“Interior Health tracks anyone who may be exposed to a confirmed case directly through contact tracing.”

SD23 added that the safety of students, their families and school workers remains a top priority and that public schools in Central Okanagan will continue to implement strict health and safety protocols.

The school district and Interior Health will continue to work together to determine if additional action is needed in light of this final positive test.

As always, students and faculty members are reminded to stay home if they show symptoms of COVID-19.
