Kelowna remains a favorite spot for NHL teams when they want to escape the bright lights of the big city.
The Edmonton Oilers will spend a few days in Kelowna before the regular season begins.
Vernon-based Oilers GM Ken Holland mentioned the news in passing during a scrum with Edmonton Media on Wednesday.
It is not exactly clear when the team will be coming, but the practice lessons will not be open to the public.
The Oilers will be the fourth NHL team to use Kelowna as a practice background.
The Detroit Red Wings, Anaheim Ducks, and Dallas Stars all skated at Prospera Place.
The ice rink was also used as a training camp for the 2006 Canadian Olympic men’s hockey team.
