Heritage Square was the first nursing home to report an outbreak of the virus.

Since then, cases have been identified in two other houses: Noric House and The Hamlets.

All persons who are in close contact with the infected are in self-isolation and monitor the symptoms. Families of residents who tested positive for COVID-19 were contacted directly.

Interior Health and the operator will continue to monitor the situation and take additional measures to control and prevent infections. This contains:

  • Monitoring all residents for respiratory symptoms and performing COVID-19 tests on those with COVID-19 symptoms;
  • Improved cleaning protocols and COVID-19 visitor guidelines.

Heritage Square is a private long-term care and assisted living facility operated by Kaigo. As an additional precaution, the operator has implemented a temporary stop for all visits to the website.
