Many holiday traditions had to be reinterpreted this year due to COVID-19.

In West Kelowna, that meant the annual bonfire instead turned into a self-service tour of some of the best Christmas lights in town.

It was dubbed the Twinkle Tour, and it allowed residents, businesses, and even the busy streets to step into their displays to be judged.

<p dir=At the weekend, a jury set out to judge the tough competition and selected the following winners:

  • 2758 Sugosa Place (residential building)
  • 2577 Bridlehill Court (residential building)
  • 827 Franwill Road (residential building)
  • Shiraz Court (street)
  • Rollingdale Winery (shop)

Each winner will receive bragging rights, a sign for their garden, and a $ 50 gift card to a local restaurant.

“We can’t thank everyone who entered their sites enough to make our first Twinkle tour enjoyable and to give Westside residents a new way to safely celebrate the holidays with their bladder,” said a press release from City.

Twinkle Tour spots will remain on display throughout the holiday season, and residents can arrange their self-guided tour on the city’s website.
