Kelowna City crews are back in an area on Clifton Road stabilizing a slope.
The city was appointed to the area on the east side of Clifton north of the High Road back in January after part of the slope gave way.
At the time, the fire department train driver Kelly Stephens said city officials were assessing the situation before deciding on future course of action.
Work on stabilizing the runway began on Wednesday.
“Although it is a simple project, it takes time to plan, engineer and design it properly. We actually made it quickly from project planning to launch, but it still takes some time, ”said Risk Manager Lance Kayfish Kay.
“There was no immediate threat, but we wanted to make it.”
The crews will replenish a drainage pond and divert rainwater to the main drain along Clifton Road.
How long the work will take is unclear.
During the work, traffic in the opposite direction will be maintained, but the speed limit in the construction site area will be reduced to 30 km / h.
