David Charlton is raising funds to help Salmon Arm’s friend and resident Tim Kubash with a major life decline.
Charlton said Kubash had a serious, life-changing accident on May 5 that damaged his vertebrae and required emergency surgery.
According to Charlton, it is not known if Kubash can use his legs again and walk again. While he has improved, Kubash is expected to receive rehabilitation and treatment for many months.
“He’s got to do some major renovation work on his house to accommodate a wheelchair and all that stuff,” said Charlton.
Charlton declared his friendship with Kubash from the time Kubash was a superintendent of the Salmon Arm Golf Course.
“He’s been there for 25 years which is a bloody run,” said Charlton. Kubash also served in the Salmon Arm Fire Department.
“Never someone to hold back and with real Tim humor he called this event a ‘Big Reset’,” commented Charlton and colleagues from #TEAMKUBASH, who set up a Gofundme page for their friend.
The funds ingested will be used for therapy and any housing changes that may be required once Kubash can return home. It says so on the Gofundme page, which raised more than $ 25,000 from its $ 150,000 goal on Tuesday, May 18.
