Man arrested after breaking into West Kelowna store and escaping in a stolen vehicle
Gary Engedahl, 49, faces a number of charges
A West Kelowna man was charged after allegedly breaking into a shop and escaping in a stolen vehicle.
Gary Engedahl, 49, was arrested on April 30 after allegedly breaking into a shop on Compass Court, breaking a window, stealing over $ 7,000 worth of goods and escaping in a GMC Yukon.
A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a man several kilometers away and the recovery of the GMC Yukon, which had been reported stolen a few days earlier. West Kelowna RCMP was also able to recover some of the goods stolen from the store.
BC prosecutors have cleared charges of burglary and immigration, possession of criminally acquired property, possession of break-in and immigration tools, and failure to comply with a parole order against Engedahl. He was brought before the provincial court and has since been released on conditions for a future trial.
