Charlotte and her husband Travis have long been established in the Kelowna business world. Charlotte has 25 years of real estate experience and the two are the second generation to run their home construction business, Destination Custom Homes.
I had a chat with Charlotte about life and style and asked what she loved most about her job.
“The plans!” She said. “At that moment, everything becomes real and customers get more and more excited when they see the house take shape. We also love this phase because it gives us the opportunity to provide the customer with valuable information about the function and the always important impact on the budget. “
When asked about the quality of Charlotte that made her successful, she said, “I have a forgiving and forgetting mentality; Life is too short and precious for luggage. And empathy, I always try to remind myself that we don’t know someone else’s moment or story – accept the good. “
What is the best life lesson she learned recently?

“My husband and I are an indisputable team. With him by my side, we can achieve anything we work hard for. “
Outside of work, they love family, travel, and food.
“We are great gourmets. I love to cook, eat out, and order. I constantly crave delicious things from home-cooked home-cooked food to flavorful Thai and seafood cioppino – and then everything paired with wine. “
Charlotte added that her job is everything: “We love it, we’re good at it and we love it! Realizing people’s dream homes is an emotional journey and we love the happy ending that we’re a part of. “

Favorite piece of all time: cashmere cardigan.
Currently in demand: FRAME jeans.
Favorite pair of shoes: UGGs and flip-flops.
Favorite work tool: calculator.
Favorite piece of jewelry or designer: My wedding ring (Neil Lane).

One thing you didn’t have to do without during the COVID-19 pandemic: travel.

Favorite cocktail or wine: Now dig really oak-rich Chardonnay.
Favorite flower: Alstroemeria (lily of the Incas).
Favorite city to visit: Vancouver. It’s nice and close to home and oh so nice. And then there is the food.
Favorite app: Netflix.
Favorite place all over the world: a white sandy beach.
One thing that constantly lifts your spirits in these difficult times: good food and wine.
