Large Bike Rolling in Kelowna for the Coronary heart & Stroke Basis

It’s a huge bike with a huge mission.

The Heart & Stroke Big Bike is rolling to Kelowna this week to raise awareness and funds for heart disease and stroke research. Teams of 30 people with 29 energetic riders and one driver cycle across the country to reach their $ 8.5 million goal. Kelowna’s goal is $ 72,000.

The Big Bike will be in Kelowna on Saturday May 23rd and again Tuesday May 26th through Thursday May 28th.

The Hollywood Road Curvettes will run for the seventh year in a row on Saturday and have raised over $ 11,000 this year. On Thursday, the city of Kelowna will be driving with four councilors and Deputy Mayor Tracy Gray. Adrienne Bakker, CEO of the Heart & Stroke Foundation BC, will join them, with each team member disguised as a superhero. Each driver pledges to raise at least $ 50.

If you’d like to see the big bike in person, it will ride the Hollywood Road Curvettes on Saturday, May 23rd at 11:30 am. The City of Kelowna superhero team will be pedaling on Thursday, May 28th at 12:00 PM. Both teams leave the Rotary Center for the Arts on Cawston Avenue.
