Lake Nation home escapes main harm after a fireplace burned the trailer – archyde

5. Wheel on fire

A Lake Country homeowner lost his fifth bike, but luckily his home remained largely intact.

Firefighters were called to the Heritage Court home at around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a burning fifth wheel.

Lake Country Fire Chief Steve Windsor says the fifth wheel was fully involved and the fire was spreading to the house when the crews arrived.

“The first crew managed to keep it out of the house and knock it down, but the fifth wheel is a total write,” said Windsor.

“We know the property owner was probably working on the device when it caught fire.”

Windsor says one of the garage doors is gone and some exterior paneling needs to be replaced.

He put the damage to the house at $ 10,000.

A neighbor tried to put out the fire with a garden hose, but Windsor says it was too intense for that.
