KELOWNA – It was a very emotional episode from Masterchef Canada when the remaining participants were reunited with their families for the first time in weeks.

Tears flowed instantly when the home cooks learned they were cooking for loved ones.

At first they were just told that they would cook for a family of 12.

“Right now, I think it’s the judge’s family. There are three judges. Four people each. That makes sense, so I’m very nervous, “said Kelowna real estate agent Kaila Klassen on Monday night in the episode Family Style.

“And the family you will be cooking for is your own,” said Judge Michael Bonacini.

Klassen gasped and wept as her parents walked through the master chef’s kitchen to give her a hug.

“I want to win this for my parents today. They have given me so much drive and they have made so many sacrifices for me. I want to win it so badly for her, “she said.

The team challenge was to cook steak medium rare with steak fries and bearnaise sauce.

Classes fries turned out to be overwhelming for the judges, but she was saved by Mike Green’s rare steak. He was eliminated and she continues in the competition.

It’s up to the last four when Masterchef Canada goes on air on CTV on Monday April 21st.
