KELOWNA, BC – Jennie Brokman has entered a niche market with her Brok Boys brand, designing and manufacturing clothing for boys. And she hopes a recent trip to Los Angeles will raise her company’s profile and, ultimately, sales.
The mother of four sons saw an unsatisfied need in the market, which led them to produce bamboo hats.
“Realizing that I would never make a tutu or a headband, I started looking online for accessories for boys,” Brokman said.
After joining a public relations firm in Vancouver, Brok Boys was invited to showcase and give away their clothing line to actors during an Oscar-parallel but unaffiliated gift event in Hollywood.
“[You] Talk to the celebrity and tell them what your business was and offer them a product, ”she said. “And then the best part was taking a picture with them.”

“It was phenomenal,” said Brokman. “It was a lot more … than I was hoping for.”
