Dan Bertram has picked up the shards of his broken shop window for the second time in the past eight months.

Bertram woke up this morning to Kelowna RCMP officers knocking on his door to inform him of the broken window at Bertram & Co. Tattoo and Piercing and his missing 27-inch iMac computer that he uses for his business.

“It’s not good, I’m trying to see the light… it’s probably someone struggling or something. Hopefully it did someone good, but it sucks, I’m not going to lie, ”said Bertram.

“We all work hard to get down here, pay our bills, and we have a lot of, I don’t know, that kind of activity. It’s tough, it’s definitely a tough morning. “

Kelowna RCMP arrived at the break-in on Lawrence Avenue at 7:00 a.m.

“Based on the evidence at the scene, investigators believe the break occurred early in the morning,” said RCMP Cpl. Meghan Foster.

“When the police arrived, they found that the store’s front window had been smashed and computer equipment had been stolen.”

RCMP will review the video surveillance and will not release it to the media unless it helps advance their investigation.

Meanwhile, Bertram’s first customers of the day at the store helped clean up the mess left behind, and the tattoo shop owner said he was grateful that nothing more was stolen.

“It’s a piece of glass, a cost to the business, you don’t want to let it get you down,” said Bertram.
