KELOWNA – The weather’s warming up, the sun is shining, and spring is officially here, but the City of Kelowna is reminding citizens to stay off sports fields until they open for the public next month.
In a press release, the City of Kelowna noted sports fields are still closed following a snowy winter.
The City will be tending to these fields in the coming weeks, testing irrigation systems and cultivating turf as to avoid holes and divots that cause nasty spills, trips, and player injuries.
The Apple Bowl Track at 1555 Burtch Rd. is currently open, ball diamonds are expected to open on April 5, and the remaining fields will follow suit on April 8.
