KELOWNA – The weather is warming up, the sun is shining and spring is officially here, but the city of Kelowna is reminding citizens to stay away from sports fields until they are open to the public next month.
In a press release, the City of Kelowna noted that sports fields are still closed after a snowy winter.
The city will take care of these fields in the coming weeks, testing irrigation systems and cultivating lawns to avoid holes and divots that cause nasty spills, tripping hazards and injuries to players.
The Apple Bowl Track at 1555 Burtch Rd. Is currently open, ball diamonds are expected to open on April 5th, and the remaining fields will follow on April 8th.
All teams looking for playgrounds can call 250-469-8504 for bookings.
